The Hanged Man
The Hanged Man is hanging by his ankle from a bare birch tree branch. His foot is tied at the ankle with a rope. His wrists are tied behind his back, and his other foot is getting tired and is bent at the knee. What does this guy have to do with you? It means you’re stuck for real… but why?
Upright: Sacrificing yourself so the grater goal is accomplished. Surrendering and putting your life in a suspension is like letting a couple of cars jump in front of you so you keep traffic moving at a pace. It’s all about pausing, letting go, and readjustment. The Hanged Man’s pockets are turned out. No effort = no reward.
Reversed: Being stubborn can cause your delay, resistance and feeling stuck. Your lack of unwillingness to make an effort puts you at the end of a line or kicked out the game. You want to keep moving but have nothing to show for it. You are the false prophet.
